Dorothy L. Kloker
Dorothy L. Kloker, 87, of Beardstown, died on July 4, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born December 29, 1931 in Quincy, the daughter of Ray C. and Edith Christine Snelling Thompson.
She is survived by two sons, Norman (Jean) Kloker of Rushville and Kevin (Laurel) Kloker of Palatine; one daughter, Marsha Kloker of Rifle, Colorado; four grandchildren, Kelly (Brett) Kemsley of Palatine, Matthew Kloker of Glendora, California, Rebecca Kloker of East Peoria and Grant Tomlinson (Megan) Kloker of Phoenix, Arizona; four great-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Nyah, Lena and David Kloker, all of Phoenix; one brother, Ray Thompson of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a 1949 graduate of Beardstown High School and obtained her LPN Certification from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield. She was a member of St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown. Dorothy was employed by Myers Nursing Home, Heritage East and Elmwood Manor, all in Beardstown and provided private nursing care to families in Astoria. In her later years, she was a housekeeper for the St. Alexius Rectory.
Dorothy was an animal lover, especially her huskies. She enjoyed tending to her house plants and flower gardening as well as having a passion for music.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on July 9, at Sager Funeral Home with burial at St. Alexius Cemetery in Beardstown.
