David P. "Ding" Bell
David P. “Ding” Bell, 63, of Beardstown, passed away Tuesday, September 10, at his home.
He was born May 13, 1956 in Beardstown, the son of Clyde William and Betty June Wilcox Bell.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie (James) Holmes of Beardstown and Jessica (Jonathan Kunkel) Stambaugh of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, Lauren Braswell, Lyla Beck, Aaron Holmes and Bayleigh Holmes; four brothers, Jack (Kathy) Bell of Beardstown, Thomas (Ann) Bell of Houston, Texas Richard (Dee) Bell of Carlyle and Randy Bell of Viola; one sister, Mary (Tim) Richards of Beardstown; several nieces and nephews and an aunt, Sandy Wilcox of Beardstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Bell was a 1974 graduate of Beardstown High School and was previously employed by Oscar Mayer in Beardstown, Sunrise Ag in Virginia and for the last several years, Neil Oil. David was a member of Beardstown Elks Lodge 1007, Cass Lodge #23 AF & AM in Beardstown and Ansar Shrine.
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, playing pool and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings. His greatest joy was his family and the time he shared with them.
A memorial visitation was held Saturday, September 14, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends to honor Ding’s life was held immediately following the visitation at the Beardstown Elks Lodge.
