Amy M. Rounds Sexton, 52, of Sherman, formerly of Beardstown, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 1, 1967 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Harold “Bud” and Diana Chambers Rounds. Her father preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Diana (Larry Owen) Rounds of Rushville; two sons, Jacob and Connor; fiancé Mike Hild, all of Sherman; two sisters, Shannon (Eric) Jones of Rushville and Lori (Marian) McDonald of Dayton, TN; one brother, Jeffrey (Amelia) Rounds of Decatur; two nieces, Aubree and Addyson; two nephews, Austin and Andrew; and several aunts and cousins.
Amy graduated from Beardstown High School in 1986 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in child development from Illinois State University. Amy taught at All His Children Development Center in Sherman for many years.
Amy was a member of Sherman United Methodist Church where she loved to be a part of and volunteer where she could. She was an avid reader and a rather vocal cheerleader for her boy’s sporting events. Her greatest act was being that loving and supportive mother for her two boys.
Visitation will be from 5–8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Staab Funeral Home in Sherman.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Carrell officiating. Burial will follow at Beardstown Cemetery.
