Two escape serious injury
Two escape serious injury – Two female Beardstown minors escaped serious injury following a one-car crash on Drainage Road July 3. According to investigating Cass County Sheriff’s deputies, the car was being driven at a high rate of speed when it crossed a rise in the roadway created by a drainage culvert. The vehicle became airborne for about 159 feet. Upon landing the car skidded and went off the roadway, traveling another 327 feet before impacting a tree on the property of Phyllis Taylor. Both minors were subsequently cited for illegal transportation of alcohol.
