Weather network seeks volunteer observers

"A well-known American writer said once that, while everybody talked about the weather, nobody seemed to do anything about it," Charles Dudley Warner observed in The Hartford Courant way back on Aug. 27, 1897.

People have been talking about weather since the dawn of time, but now you can have an impact – thanks to the Internet and the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network or CoCoRaHS for short.

CoCoRaHS is seeking volunteers in Cass County as well as surrounding counties to record daily precipitation measurements. These measurements then are filed on the CoCoRaHS website. This even includes days when there is no precipitation.

In addition, CoCoRaHS volunteers have an opportunity to submit condition reports. This allows volunteers to assess the impact of precipitation or the lack of it on their areas. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref=""><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
