An army reunion in Bloomington
It is my Army Reunion again, and this time it is being held in the in the smallest town ever. It was in Bloomington this past Thursday through Sunday morning. It has met for almost fifty years and has always been in one of the country’s larger cities. I remember my first one was Dallas, and the banquet hall of the hotel had to serve over 600 people with 350 of them being Veterans. I remember the speaker at one of the banquets was Ross Perot, a presidential candidate that year. I also remember at another banquet they had six former Air Corps pilots who had been in a prison in Germany which we had liberated. This year, there were only six veterans--just half of the number who met a year ago. Maybe age has something to do with it, as all are 93 years or older.
