New categories of airline ranking

    Greetings from the Ridge.
As summer begin to poke its sunny head around the corner, many minds turn to dreams of travel and the fastest way to get anywhere still means hopping aboard a jet plane and hoping that it lands right side up. For reasons that I don’t quite understand, airline passengers recently gave our national airlines the highest efficiency rating ever. This in spite of the fact that late departures and lost bags are at an all-time high. Maybe we just got tired of complaining.
The survey rates each airline on things such as on-time departures, cabin comfort, ease of ticketing, number of flights available, and of course their safety record. And for the record, they all have a great safety record. Alaska Airlines again came out on top and Spirit Airlines held its customary place at the bottom of the rankings. It’s a bit depressing when you look at worldwide ratings of airlines and find that you have to scroll all the way down to number 35 to find an American airline, Delta.
