Virginia Bar-B-Que: a tasty winner

    With 50 years now under its belt, the Virginia Bar-B-Que is looking ahead to another half century of tasty weekends.
    Aided by ideal weather, the Bar-B-Que drew large crowds from start to finish. There were carnival rides, bingo, face painting, ice cream, lemonade shake-ups, popcorn and a variety of vendors and artisans.
    Topping everything was the food tent. Crews busily prepared pulled pork, bar-b-que pork, hamburgers, pork burgers and the All-American hot dog along with baked beans and slaw. And the array of desserts were guaranteed to tempt the most iron-willed dieter to forget about weight loss for one day.
