Teacher’s Union shows up in force at School Board meeting

Looking across the crowd gathered for the regular meeting of the Beardstown Board of Education on last Wednesday night, one could not miss all the Beardstown Education Association shirts donned by those gathered to see their contract accepted for 2015 through 2018. Much of the night’s business, following recognition of the school’s soccer team (with a regional and sectional championship) and, of course, another (now that they’ve been paid) HVAC issue, was held in closed session.
Twenty eight students will be going to a leadership conference at MacMurray College in the near future. Jacob Tucker is scheduled to be the key speaker. The Veterans Day assembly was a great success with a great turnout of veterans and well-organized recognition activities.
