Soil Health workshop

    The Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a Soil Health and NLRS Workshop Nov. 21 at the Farm Bureau in Havana. The farm bureau is located at 127 High Street. People from the Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Mason County Soil and Water Conservation District have also been invited to attend. The workshop will start at 9 a.m. and end at 12 p.m. with lunch provided by Babe’s in Havana. Lunch has been made possible by Monsanto. Sunrise Ag has also made this workshop possible.
    The speakers for the workshop include Lauren Lurkins, from Illinois Farm Bureau. Lauren will be speaking on nutrient loss reduction strategy. Dan Schaefer from the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association will speak on N-Watch and N-Rate. The last speakers, Robert Woodruff from Illinois Stewardship Alliance and Farm Stewardship and Jim Isermann from Soil Health Partnership, will be speaking on soil health and cover crops.
