Slashing incident sends four people to area hospitals

Police seeking witness information on suspects, motives

Beardstown police have identified and are attempting to locate a suspect in a Sunday morning slashing incident that left two people with life-threatening wounds and two others with minor injuries.

While police acknowledge they have identified a possible suspect, they are not yet releasing the person’s name because the suspect is believed to be a flight risk.

The incident occurred at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday when police were called to the La Isla bar at Third and Washington Streets.

On arrival police found two men suffering from severe abdominal wounds. Moments later, two other victims showed up at the Beardstown Police Department, one a female with a minor laceration wound to the side, while another female suffered a minor injury from an apparent blow to the neck. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref=""><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
