Sheriff’s deputies investigate altercation, crash

A four-wheeler accident left one man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and police investigating an alleged incident that may have preceded it.

Cass County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an alleged altercation in the Oaks Subdivision, and while enroute to the call deputies received another call reporting a four-wheeler crash at 34 Double Tree.

Jeremy Martin, 32, of Beardstown sustained serious injuries after his four-wheeler struck landscaping ties in the yard at 34 Double Tree. Martin, according to the sheriff’s department, was allegedly involved in an altercation moments before the crash.
