Rain dampens but doesn’t deter enthusiasm for Blues, Brews and Barbeque festival

Sixteen professional Barbeque teams came to Beardstown over the weekend for the second annual “Blues, Brews and Barbeques” cooking contest at the Beardstown Square. Officially sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Association, the event was organized by Beardstown Main Street, and was sponsored by local businesses such as: JBS, Moreland & Devitt, 1st National Bank of Beardstown, Jennings of Beardstown, DOT Foods and numerous others.

Barbeque cooks from all over the country, both professional and amateur, came to show their wares. They fired up their grills and smokers plied their skills in the preparation of chicken, ribs, pork and brisket, filling down town Beardstown with the smells of their culinary delights. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref="http://etypeservices.com/Cass%20County%20Star%20GazetteID497/"><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
