Local home damaged in early-morning blaze

    A residence located at 1106 Lafayette Street in Beardstown caught fire early Saturday morning.
    According to Fire Chief Heath White, the Beardstown Fire Department received the call at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7. The owner of the residence, Alfredo Marquez, had been alerted to the fire by neighbors, who noticed Marquez’s garage engulfed in flame.
