Little free library opens its doors in B’town

With the intent of putting books in the hands of young readers (or readers of all ages for that matter), the Beardstown Emblem Club has opened a little lending library in the 1300 block of Monroe Street, just a short distance from Gard School.
The books are free for the taking and the reading.  “What we’d really like to see happen is someone take a book and leave one,” said Samantha Bell, local Emblem Club president. “But the real idea is to get books into kids’ hands at an early age and encourage them to read.”
