Jil Tracy announces candidacy, visits Beardstown during tour of 11 counties

Former House of Representatives member Jil Tracy visited Beardstown on Monday, Oct. 26 as part of a tour to announce her candidacy in the Ill. 47th State Senate District. Joining her were Ill. State Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno and State Representative Norine Hammond.
After several months of speculation, Tracy has officially anounced that she is seeking the nomination for State Senate in the 47th District. To spread the word, she spent Monday touring each of the 11 counties in the district. Her visit in Beardstown began at the Lincoln Courthouse Museum on the square before moving down to the Golden Age Center.
Tracy lists her experience as Assistant Attorney General (a position which involved oversight of 19 counties) and her familiarity with the area, having raised her family in Mt. Sterling, as some of her strongest arguments in favor of her holding the position.
