Incumbent Beardstown council members face challengers

Four people will be vying for two seats on the Beardstown City Council in Tuesday’s consolidated election.  Local businesswoman Kelly Cagle is seeking the aldermanic seat in the city’s Second Ward currently held by Tim Harris.  In the Fourth Ward, Missy Meyer hopes to win the seat currently held by Tracey Price.
The candidates, in separate interviews with the Star-Gazette, provided insights on issues facing the community and their decisions to seek election.
The order of their appearance was determined without consideration to political position or affiliation. Position was decided alphabetically.
