Former Beardstown officer sentenced

    Rodney Wilson, former Beardstown police officer, pleaded guilty to the charge of theft above $500 but below $10,000 at his sentencing hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
    Wilson was placed on 24 months probation, sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served, ordered to complete 240 hours of community service, fined in the amount of $1,000 plus costs and restitution in the amount of $6,956.66 for a total of $9548.66, and granted time to pay.
