Dredging project on Sangamon River comes to an end

A $1.4 million dredging project intended to strengthen the Hager Slough levee officially came to an end when the dredge Mary M. was lifted out of the Sangamon River's muddy waters last Wednesday afternoon.

A 350-ton crane owned by A.C. Jones Trucking Co., and operated by Jace Jones, lifted the dredge in sections and placed it on flatbed trailers for transport. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref="http://etypeservices.com/Cass%20County%20Star%20GazetteID497/"><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
