Crash occurs near Arenzville Road

A traffic crash occurred on Rt. 125 west of Arenzville Road on Jan. 11 at 6:18 p.m. when a white 1999 Kenworth transporting a 1988 Lufkin trailer driven by Larry L. Kahbeah, 75, of Tallula collided with a gray 2006 Dodge driven by Howard L. Cummings, 74, of Beardstown.
Preliminary investigation by the Illinois State Police indicates the white Kenworth was attempting to turn westbound onto Rt. 125 from a private drive that is located west of Arenzville Road. The gray Dodge was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 125 near the same location. The white Kenworth failed to yield to oncoming traffic and entered Rt. 125, anticipating the Dodge would slow down. The driver of the Dodge failed to reduce its speed to avoid the crash and struck the trailer being pulled by the Kenworth. The driver of the Dodge had to be extricated from his vehicle by the EMS personnel and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  The driver of the Dodge was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

In last week’s Focus, I wrote about two doors listed in the Scriptures. One door was an open door which God gives as an invitation to hope and our calling, an open door which no one can shut.
