Chapin sewer rates to increase

Sewer rates will increase by 3% beginning June 1 in the Village of Chapin, this motion being accepted at recent meeting of the Village Board.
Elsewhere in the Public Works report: Committee members will look at costs to resurface the Basketball Court in Village Park and sidewalks in need of repair throughout the Village. Faded Stop signs along Main Street will be replaced soon. A part time Public Works employee will be added to the roster soon; applications for the position are being accepted at Village Hall from until May 19. Community service signs are now being placed near the ‘Welcome to Chapin’ sign.
In the Police report: the Village has two new part time officers on patrol. In the Rescue Squad report: the squad has responded to 13 calls for service YTD and the squad is presently looking to add a smaller rig to the fleet. Community CPR classes are being scheduled for later this year.
