Chapin Board discusses sewer issues

Sewer issues were the main topic at the June meeting of the Chapin Village Board held last week. Issues with the aeration system and valves not keeping unfiltered water from entering the pit are a concern from the IEPA, who are aware of the problem. The engineering firm of Benton and Associates have been contacted for assistance. Elsewhere in the utility and streets report: all Village streets have received cold patchwork prior to the annual work to be done this fall.
The basketball court in the park has been seal-coated and will be striped soon. Also, quotes are being accepted to replace the wooden swings.
