Chandlerville board handles equipment repair, replacement

The Chandlerville Village Board passed several motions at its meeting last Wednesday to replace or repair village equipment. With Trustee Wadine Mibb acting as mayor in the absence of Mayor Tim Richard, the board passed a motion to make an emergency repair at the water plant. The air conditioning system had quit working and, if not repaired quickly, Trustee Chuck Force said equipment at the plant might be damaged. Doing the repair on an emergency basis means the job will not go through the usual bidding process.

Other actions concerned vegetation control. The board passed a motion to purchase a mower with a deck of no more than 44 inches, the size believed to be the maximum than can be used for mowing in the cemetery. The motion is for a maximum price of $6,500 and supersedes a motion passed in May for the purchase of a Lexmark mower. The motion passed last week does not specify a brand. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref=""><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
