Chandlerville board delays ordinances

Votes on the Chandlerville nuisance ordinances the Chandlerville board was preparing to enact had to be delayed this month. The board needed a representative of Wessel Law Office, which handles legal matters for the village, to attend the meeting before voting on the ordinances. Also postponed was the annual appropriations ordinance. No one at the last week’s meeting knew why no one from the law office attended. The board discussed holding a special meeting but no date was set.
Although the board did not pass any ordinances, a list was circulated of nuisance properties and board members added to that list. When they were finished, there were approximately a dozen properties on the list.
The board voted to make two $50 donations, one to the Chandlerville Improvement Council for burgoo and the other to the Cass County Food Pantry. Georgia Eilers voted against both motions.
