Cass Board discusses seat vacancy, ambulance contract, and e-mail tax bills

Filling a board vacancy, renewal of the ambulance contract for eastern Cass County, and the future of real estate tax billing were the chief discussion items at Monday night’s Cass County Board meeting.
Regarding the board vacancy created by the death of former board chairman David Parish, County Clerk Shelly Wessel told the remaining board members the vacancy would have to be filled within 60 days.  More importantly, the vacancy could only be filled by someone of the same political party who also resided in the same board district as Parish.
