A-C board debates sports to co-op agreement

Following the most recent meeting between the A-C Central and PORTA school districts, the A-C board again discussed whether additional sports need to be in the co-op between the two districts.

The discussion revisited a topic broached at the February meeting of the school board where Athletic Director Colin Arthalony said it may no longer be possible for A-C to field middle school girls’ basketball and softball teams on its own due to declining participations.

At this month’s meeting, some board members doubted Arthalony’s assertions. Trustee Garrett Savage said he was “not convinced” that everything that could be done to recruit students for theteamshadbeendone. Debra Petefish said class sizes had not changed. Jennifer Fanning and President Todd Jokisch also expressed a desire for A-C to maintain its own teams where possible. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref="http://etypeservices.com/Cass%20County%20Star%20GazetteID497/"><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
