A-C Board approves athletic co-op agreement

The A-C Central School board approved an intergovernmental agreement with PORTA district regarding co-op of athletics between the two districts. At last Wednesday’s meeting, prior to the approval, board members discussed the things they would like to see in the co-op including A-C hosting more games than it currently does.

Superintendent Tim Page commented on a new three percent salary raise cap in legislation recently passed. The cap concerns teacher raises and includes a penalty of $13 to the school district for every dollar a raise exceeds the cap. However, these caps don’t apply when a teacher moves to a job in a new district. For this reason, Page expressed concern that A-C could become a “revolving door” with teachers moving into or out of the district. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref="http://etypeservices.com/Cass%20County%20Star%20GazetteID497/"><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
