Bluffs School Board discusses budget

    The 2017/18 budget for the Bluffs School District will be determined by Superintendent Kevin Blankenship. The board approved a motion at the August meeting authorizing the Superintendent to develop the budget. It will be presented at a budget hearing before the September meeting of the board to be held on July 13.
    In other matters, cafeteria prices were set for the upcoming school year. Breakfast will be $1.35 for all students, lunch will be $1.70 for K-5, and 7-12 will be $1.95. Adults will be charged $2.25.
    In the personnel report: new hires were Magoline Middleton in the elementary school; Ben Winn as Elementary PE department and Heath teacher; and Keith Evans as JH baseball coach. The last meeting before the school year will be held Wednesday, Aug. 9 beginning at 7 p.m.
