Beardstown library’s summer reading for kids a best seller

    The Beardstown Houston Memorial Library’s six-week summer reading program was a hit with local kids this year.
    One hundred children between the ages of 1-13 registered for the program, which ran from June 12 through July 17. The theme of the program was “Explore New Adventures – Read!” Participants played games and made crafts relating to diverse topics such as technology, fantasy, and the Australian wilderness. Twenty volunteers assisted the children with crafts, games, snacks, and storytelling.
