Beardstown firm leaves green thumb print on Governor’s Mansion project

When visitors walked onto the grounds of the newly renovated Governor’s Mansion in Springfield, aside from the impressive edifice that stood before them, they were likely taken by the beauty of the well-manicured grounds.

Theimmaculate condition of the grounds, however, didn’t happen by chance. Each roll of sod, each plant, each flower was carefully put in place by employees of Illinois Forest Products Landscape, Nursery and Forestry, or better known by its shorthand name IFP.

“The actual landscape architecture design was drawn up by Massie, Massie and Associates of Springfield,” said Kevin Massie, presidentofIFP. “They received the contract for the architectural landscape design, and we bid on the contract to perform the work. Fortunately for us, they accepted our bid.” &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref=""><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
