Beardstown council talks impound lots, 911 dispatching, and public comment

The Beardstown City Council heard from Chief of Police Shane Hunt regarding the possibility of an impound lot behind the police station at Tuesday night’s committee of the whole meeting.
Chief Hunt asked the council to consider purchasing the property as soon as possible, stating that the current owner had agreed to come down to $5000 from his original asking price of $7500. Alderman Tim Harris said he felt the impound lot was a good idea, but wanted the city to take the time to educate themselves on the ins and outs.
