Beardstown Council considers payment options for Beard Street Improvement

At Tuesday night’s meeting, the Beardstown City Council discussed the possibility of paying for a portion of the Beard Street project out of the water fund in order to minimize the use of motor fuel tax funds.

The council discussed paying for about half of the approximately $192,000 project with $100,000 coming out of the city’s water fund.

According to Reggie Benton, the city’s consulting engineer, much of the concrete patching that will be required for the resurfacing project is a direct result of work affiliated with the city’s water main improvement project. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref=""><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
