Beardstown Council approves police equipment purchases, debates chief’s ordinance

The Beardstown City Council voted to buy a new in-car camera system for the police department and also opted to purchase new security cameras and install new electronic locks to better secure the facility.
The new Watch Guard Video camera system  will cost $5,870 with installation.  There is also a good possibility the cost of the camera may be reimbursed by the state.
