Beardstown’s Fall Fun Festival parade is named in John Conner’s memory

The Beardstown Fall Fun Festival Committee has announced that its annual parade will now be known as the John Conner Memorial Parade.

“This is something that was easy. It was just the right thing to do,” Festival Chairman Tom Schlueter said of the idea.

“John was a member of the festival committee and our parade announcer for more than 30 years. We just thought it was appropriate that we did this to honor a great man, who was such an important member of our committee and our community for so many years.”
