Asbestos found at Meredosia school

A leaky roof from a wet November led to the discovery of asbestos at the Meredosia High School. During the December meeting of the Meredosia-Chambersburg School Board, it was estimated that $80,000 will need to be spent to remove the asbestos and another $40,000 to replace ceiling tiles damaged from the leaks.
    In other building matters discussed during the meeting: The district is expected to receive an Ameren grant to install new LED lighting at the school and a LEAD project grant will cover the cost of a new microphone and IPad.
