Ag in the Classroom

The Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom (IAITC) program continued to provide a strong avenue for children to learn about agriculture again this year, reaching more students and awarding more grants to support local efforts than ever before.
“Last year, county ag literacy programs helped reach close to 650,000 students,” said Kevin Daugherty, education director, Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom. “That’s why educational grants offered to counties are so important. They provide an avenue for continued education for agriculture in grade school classes.”
