Mary Looker

Mary Looker, 71, Beardstown, died Saturday afternoon, December 4, 2021 surrounded by her family in her home.

She was born March 15, 1950 at Memorial Hospital in Beardstown, the daughter of Francis and Erma Henry. She married William “Steve” Looker on June 26, 1976, in Beardstown and he survives.

She is also survived by her children Stephanie Looker and William “Willy” (fiancé, Briar Gregerson, all of Beardstown; grandchildren, Eric, Drake, Gunner, Marrissa, Elizabeth and Ava; three brothers, Jim (Edna) Henry, Bill (Sue) Henry and Roger Henry; one sister, Jan Acker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerold and Cliff Henry; and one sister, Ragina Ellis.

Mary enjoyed many things on top of spending time with her family including sewing, ceramics, and cooking (OH BOY! Was she an amazing cook!) Even in her work Mary was able to do something she enjoyed. She worked at the glove factory in Beardstown for almost 20 years until retiring due to the progression of her multiple sclerosis. After Mary’s retirement she continued to do the things she enjoyed while she could.

Although the MS took many things from her, it never stopped her from spending time with her loved ones or the fact that she was a strong, outspoken, funny, spunky, and all-around amazing woman, wife, mother and grandmother. Mary had a way about her even when she didn’t speak, she could make you laugh. She loved her family, but especially her grandchildren. She would just light up whenever they were around. Mary is loved and will be missed very much by all her loved ones.

A graveside service was held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Beardstown City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 Auxiliary. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.sagerfuneralhome.com.
