Mary Lauder Bradshaw

    Mary Lauder Bradshaw, 77, of Murrayville and formerly of Beardstown, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
    She was born Nov. 28, 1943, in Beardstown, the daughter of Donald and Maxine Simmons Lauder. She married Jerry Lee Bradshaw on Dec. 27, 1966, in Beardstown and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2015.
    She is survived by one brother, Roger (Charlene) Lauder of Beardstown; nieces and nephews, Curtis Lauder of Kevil, KY, Connie (Rusty) Ward of Quincy, Jessica (Sean) Taylor of Beardstown, Shannon (Will) Wayland of Arenzville and Dallas Lauder of Springfield; eleven great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Fred Lauder (surviving wife, Carolyn of Quincy).
    Mrs. Bradshaw was a 1961 graduate of Beardstown High School. She was employed at the State Hospital in Jacksonville, then Motorola in Quincy before retiring working for the State of Illinois in Springfield. She participated in bowling leagues in Springfield for 30 years. Mary enjoyed sending birthday and anniversary cards to friends and family, doing puzzles and hosting various holiday parties. She was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and was known for her legendary potato salad, had a love for children and a contagious laugh that caught the attention of those around her. Mary had a giving soul, never hesitating to donate to a charity in need.  
    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Family will meet friends from 5–7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later date.
