Lois Ann Fischer went home to be with the Lord at age 96 on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

She was born June 4, 1926, in Dorchester, WI the daughter of Valentine and Anna Schirm Keiper. She attended Beardstown High School for three years and graduated from Springfield High School in 1944. She attended Eastern Illinois University and Michigan State University. She married Robert G. Fischer on February 5, 1945, in Charleston, IL and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2009.

Lois was devoted to her large family and was dearly loved. She was a woman of grace, compassion, understanding, and had a strong faith in Jesus in which she displayed throughout her life. Lois was gentle and kind. She enjoyed traveling, her bridge clubs, and loved and enjoyed her home at 802 State Street for 64 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Sue (Steve) Sherrill of Jacksonville, Jan (Al) Bedrosian of Charlotte, NC, Amy (Tom) Seward of Las Vegas, NV; one son, Rob (Laura) Fischer of Galesburg; 15 grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren; one sister, Jean Cox of Shelbyville, and two-sisters-in law, Betty Fischer of Hannibal, MO and Gertie Keiper of Houston, TX.

She was reunited in Heaven with her brother, Ed Keiper, and sisters, Gertie Phelps, Millie Musgrove, and Doris Tolle.

The family would like to thank special care givers Sharon Large, Athena Brissey, and Laurie Taylor.  We would also like to thank Pastor Kettner for his love and support.

A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown where Lois has been a member since she was 10 years old. Private burial will be held at Beardstown City Cemetery.
