Focus on Faith
On Sunday, I focused on the 40 years between the time God rescued Israel from Egypt and when He delivered them to the Promised Land. Three days into their journey, we read this in Numbers 11:1, “Now the people complained [whined] about their hardships.” They even longed for the “good ole’ days” back in Egypt – you know, when they were slaves working from dawn to dusk, beaten if they didn’t work hard enough – and worst of all – feeling completely abandoned by God. How did God feel about their constant whining? In Numbers 14:11, He asks Moses: “How long will these people treat Me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in Me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them?” Constant complaining is a big deal to God.
