Community important on our journey of faith

This week, Beardstown had a chance to celebrate something that many towns do not. It was our ZIP code day! Every one hundred years, the date corresponds to our ZIP code. I hope you had a chance to partake of the celebration; it was wonderful! Many thanks and kudos to those who helped organize the festivities.

As I was walking around during the celebration, I was reminded, again, of the importance of community – togetherness with those around us. I’ve spent all my ministry in small towns and, even with their flaws, small towns are great places to live. What makes them great is the sense of connection that is afforded to those who are part of the community. &nbsp;&nbsp;<ahref=""><spanstyl... 13px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.</span></a></p>
