Partnering Seniors with “Seniors”

This past Sunday, April 26, was another spectacular day for the Project Tiger Pride team – and a first for the community! Under the leadership of Mr. Mike Massie, Class of ’65, PTP partnered his alumni class with the Class of 2015 to begin laying bricks for the new courtyard project in the Commons area of the BHS campus.  The turnout was wonderful!
Over 40 seniors participated with alumni 50 years senior to them!  It is the beginning of “gold partnering” that PTP is planning to continue for the future. This first one was hugely successful.
Over the course of the afternoon, not only were we able to lay all of the bricks for the first half of the courtyard, but with so much assistance available, we “fluffed up” the landscaping as well. Students pressure washed the donated picnic tables, weeded, and placed new mulch on plant and tree beds. And the Class of ’65, if not helping lay bricks, made sure the kids were well fed.

In the last few years, the phrase “fake news” has worked its way into our vocabulary. It is a phrase used to describe information that is accepted as fact by some but disbelieved by others.
