A little bit about the history of Beardstown

I had a call from Harriet Lee the other day in regard to the owners and the history of the Arrow restaurant. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to help Harriet, as I had limited catfish dinners there.
No need of buying fish dinners when we were growing up. Everyone in our neighborhood spent a lot of time at Treadway’s ditch, where the crappies, sunfish, and occasional white bass were easily caught by the hand rods on minnow and worm baits. The only problem was the time of cleaning - well worth the trouble when fried.
