A fond farewell to Beardstown schools

To the School District:
After 18 consecutive years working for the School District in charge of Recruitment and Parent Involvement for Hispanics, I have made the decision to present my resignation as of Nov. 16 of this present year.
Needless to say that I have made this decision independently, feeling deeply grateful for this educational institution, the community, and for you as authorities. The work that was done during these 18 years of my life has left me with a profound enrichment in acquaintances and knowledge generated by multiple experiences, especially those carried out with the Hispanic part of the community and recently with the Africans who have immigrated in these last few years.
I lament my limitations in mastering English because it lessened my communication with the rest of the community; nevertheless, all of the ethnic components that were integrated gave me significant experience in the 18 years of promoting education and culture.
