We give S&H Green Stamps

It seems like only yesterday when most merchants handed out S&H Green Stamps as a reward for patronizing their businesses. Sperry & Hutchinson (S&H) was established in 1896 by Thomas Sperry and Shelly Hutchinson to provide retailers with a loyalty program that would become popularly known as “trading stamps.”
Here’s how trading stamps worked. Merchants purchased the stamps, giving them to shoppers. In time, stamps had various point values – one, 10 and 50 points. Consumers pasted the stamps into S&H Saver Books, each worth 1,200 points.
