Perhaps it should be Coonridge County

    Even really smart people can come up with dumb ideas.
    A case in point is the suggestion county officials and residents consider changing county names in time for the state’s 2018 bicentennial. That proposal comes from Illinois State Historical Society Executive Director William Furry, a really smart guy.
    Yes, Bill, I get it. You want people to think about the history of their own county, and the people who helped build the county and the events and enterprises that helped shape it. Sure, that’s a grand idea. But changing the county’s name –  whether permanently or for just one year – is just plain silly.
