A ghost from school years past visits Virginia School District

A ghost from Cass County’s past made a surprise appearance at Monday evening’s Virginia School Board meeting. Board members learned the district apparently is the owner of 1.11 acres of land on Noelsch Lane in Panther Creek Township. This land once was the site of a now forgotten one-room country school. Often when these rural schools were closed, land ownership would pass to the state and eventually to the Regional Offices of Education. It appears that is the case with the land the Virginia district owns.
