A Journey in Lent: The Common Practice

    In this third week we continue our Journey in Lent.
    When I was young and my family was going to travel on vacation, we had some common practices in order that the trip be more memorable. These became a tradition for each vacationing trip. Perhaps your family had or has a routine you follow for traveling together.
    A common practice associated with our journey in Lent is the giving up of something like a certain kind of food, a favorite TV show, or something that you really enjoy.
    On one occasion a person even told me that he was going to give up cursing for Lent. Really?!

In the last few years, the phrase “fake news” has worked its way into our vocabulary. It is a phrase used to describe information that is accepted as fact by some but disbelieved by others.
