Jerry “Tadpole” Gregory, 78, Meredosia, died Saturday, Dec.25, 2021, at his home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Meredosia, the son of Earl “Bud” and Lucille Allen Gregory. He married Carol Hatfield on April 25, 1964, in Beardstown, and she survives.

He is also survived by two children, Troy (Debra) Gregory and Cheryl Floyd, all of Meredosia; three grandchildren, Zachary (Katlyn) Floyd of Meredosia, Taylor (Jessica) Gregory of Rome, Georgia and Morgan (Marcus) Crafton of Crocker, MO; one step-grandson, Jared (Cassie) Ransom of Quincy; and six great grandchildren with another arriving in April.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters and one brother, Marcella Floyd, Jack D. Gregory and Mary Rausch.

Tadpole worked for National Starch and Chemical Company in Meredosia for thirty-eight years. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin at Meredosia Lake. He loved his cats and spending time with his grandkids.

The family will hosted a graveside service on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Meredosia Rescue Squad.
