Janey E. McClure, 79, Beardstown, died Sunday March 19, 2023 in Springfield.

She was born August 7, 1943 in Beardstown the daughter of the late Howard and Elsie Tremain Dotzert. She married James E. McClure Sr. in 1965 in Beardstown and he survives at home.

Also surviving is their son James E. (Debra) McClure Jr. of Beardstown, five granddaughters, ten great grandchildren and two sisters, Bonnie Fulscher and Charlotte Large, both of Beardstown.

Preceding her in death was her daughter, Jeannie DeVore and a brother, David Dotzert.

Janey graduated from Beardstown High School. She was a homemaker, and a talented seamstress, making many dresses for family weddings. She also enjoyed embroidery.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday March 24, 2023 at the Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Visitation with the family will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Beardstown City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s choice.
